The Road We Took

2017

Formed the community over Facebook as a means to connect with other like minded travellers and share information. Started with 200 members strong in September and kept on growing everyday.

Formation

2018

Registered as a travel agency for women. Started to initiate tours locally and also host guided tours worldwide.

The Start

2019

Formally built a team called the Wander Woman Squad to run the company smoothly. We launched, guided and hosted 100+ trips by the end of this year.

Received the prestigious Diana Award for contribution to women empowerment and became one of the first companies in this industry to do so.

Building The Squad

2021

Business operations slowed down a little due to the ongoing pandemic. We pivoted and reformed as a Travel-tech startup post pandemic to meet up the demands of the current time.

Recognition

2022

Raised funding and received UNLEASH+ award. Guided and hosted over 300+ trips both nationwide and worldwide and became a community of 40,000+ female travel enthusiasts and growing.

Founder's Journey

Even as a child, our founder Sabira would often toddle out of her neighborhood alone. Her curiosity and passion for travel eventually led her to go beyond the borders of Bangladesh to over 25 countries today. But from the very beginning, she realized there was a problem. A big one. Hence in 2017, she took the initiative to create a Facebook group to share her experiences and find others with similar experiences.

The group quickly grew in members and stories. Sabira and her team of moderators worked tirelessly to provide accurate data and support for their members to travel in safety and comfort. All of which transformed the close-knit community you know today as “Wander Woman”.
